Choosing the theme for your wedding day can be one of the most exciting challenges of all the wedding planning, as well as being one of the most stressful!  The ideas, the colours, the flowers, the stationery, the dresses, the accessories – where do you start!

The basic theme will of course be a very personal choice, and play a huge part in designing the day.  For example, I got married at Christmas and wanted red roses, so my theme was just that – Christmas and red roses!

From then on, my day was completely tailored around everything Christmas and roses – every detail was considered, we had Christmas carols during the service, mince pies with our drinks on arrival, Christmas trees as decorations, miniature stockings as favours – I even named the tables after Santa’s reindeers!  It was amazing!

So I thought I’d write a few words about how stationery can help with the theme of your wedding day.  Your wedding  stationery will of course play a huge part in theming the day and can be a very useful way of displaying your theme.  From the outset, the invitations can set the scene, co-ordinated rsvp’s are now commonly available with most invitations.  On the day itself, the themed order of service or order of the day can give your guests an elegant start to the day.  A co-ordinated or matching welcome sign is a lovely way to continue your theme as your guests move through to your reception.  Think about your colours – don’t add too many different colours, maybe keep to just two or three maximum.   Match your cake ribbon to your flowers, for example.  Think about your table decorations – table names, menus, place cards and favours.  If possible, use the same company to provide them all to maintain the theme.  If you do go for different suppliers, you may find that different shades, card, textures, fonts, etc will differ and deter from the overall consistency.

It’s also an idea to ask your stationer / florist for some extra flowers for you to use on different things, eg. on the cake, in your hair, by the guest book, etc.  We often get asked to provide extra bunches of roses or lilies for the bride to use for other bits and pieces on the day – these small details all help to keep your theme perfect!

Another accessory that is getting more popular is a wedding post box – again co-ordinated to the rest of your stationery.  This is a post box for wedding cards and gifts from your guests on the day to help ensure nothing goes missing or gets mislaid.

The list is endless and you could co-ordinate to the last minute detail, but the more you think of, the more your guests – and you – will be astonished by the results on the day.

Small details result in outstanding results!  Good luck!! xx

We are proud to announce the new Collection for March – the Lucy Collection.  Named after Debbie’s first daughter, this design is elegant, luxurious and beautiful!  In a very similar style to the Celtic Knot design, the Lucy wedding invitation and accessories uses a single daisy placed on a pearlescent square of card edged with two pretty small pearls.  This design works best using neutral and simple colours, although we have used more vibrant colours for the organza ribbon to give it a splash of colour.

I love this design and want anyone with a daisy wedding theme to order a sample to see just how pretty and beautiful it it!  Order your sample now!

We were asked to produc a bespoke design using a celtic knot idea by a customer who wanted something classy but simple, using neutral colours and ribbons. We produced three designs and she chose this one as her favourite. We also fell in love with it and so our bride said we could use it as one of our Collections!

The stationery range uses a mix of organza ribbon, pearlescent card and textured paper, with the main celtic knot motif finished with a shimmering silver outline. Our example products in this Collection is in ivory, but it works equally well and is stunning using pure white card and materials.

I can see this wedding invitation being perfect for a bride who wants a welsh theme wedding or indeed for a classic celt wedding.

Watch this space for updates!

Debbie’s youngest daughter Hannah was Christening on 20th September this year and when planning the celebration, we really struggled to find quality christening invitations within a reasonable budget, without buying them from a high street shop.

So as the company was due to take a new direction in terms of products offered, Hannah’s Christening was the perfect opportunity to design and send our own range of christening invitations.  The design was a simple white square card, with a pink gingham centre, finished with a simple silver cross and were perfect for the lovely day we all had.
